Water Damage Repairs for the Retreat Center and Gift Shop Remain On Track!

On the evening of January 14, as the Angelus bells were ringing, the fire alarm went off here at Marytown. It alerted us to a water flow in the fire sprinkler system. Within seconds water gushed out from a broken pipe in the attic which caused a great deal of damage to the third floor of the retreat center as well as the second and first floors and the Immaculata Conference Room on the lower level. Currently a professional restoration company is in the process of cleaning and assessing the damage. Thankfully, we have good insurance and have been assured all will be restored to what it was before this catastrophe. As many of you may recall, the Retreat Center was recently renovated and reopened last September.
Because of this, the Gift Shop and Retreat Center will be closed for the foreseeable future. Removing all the debris as well as the cleaning will take two to three weeks before reconstruction and repairs can begin. We will keep you posted as to the progress made.
