Keynote Speakers
Damon & Melanie Owens are founders of Joyful Ever After, a ministry to help couples flourish in holy marriages, build strong marriage communities, and enrich parish life with the soul of the family. They have been married 27 years and have eight children.
Damon served as the first executive director of the Theology of the Body Institute. He has published numerous articles, appears regularly on radio and TV programs and has hosted and produced three 13-part television series for EWTN.
Melanie earned her BA in sociology at the University of California at Santa Barbara and her MSW at the University of California at Berkeley. She homeschooled the couple’s eight children and, along with Damon, keeps a full international speaking schedule at conferences, universities and parishes on the good news of marriage, sexuality, adoption and theology of the body.
Award & Illinois Update
The Henry Hyde Life Leadership Award is being presented to Jeanne Ives. A West Point graduate, Jeanne Ives served three terms as an Illinois State Representative. First elected in 2012, she demonstrated not only a willingness to lead on difficult issues and question powerful House leaders, but also an insightful understanding of policy.
In 2020, Jeanne was the Republican nominee for Congress in Illinois’ 6th congressional district.
Jeanne has lived in Wheaton for 29 years with her husband, Paul (also a USMA Class of 1987 graduate), and their 5 children. She currently serves as CEO of Breakthrough Ideas.
