Br. Martin's New Home

Marytown's beloved Br. Martin Schmitz, OFM Conv. has moved to the St. Joseph's Home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor in Palatine, IL where his health needs can be better met. Though he misses his brother friars, friends and longtime home of Marytown, he's at peace with his new arrangement. The friars ask everyone to keep him in their prayers and we ask our Blessed Mother to place her protective mantle over him.

Br. Martin is the last surviving member of the original Marytown USA community founded in Crystal Lake, IL in 1948, for which we are all deeply indebted.
